Feeling welcome is not the same as feeling included. Families in many schools are invited in but remain on the sidelines—attending events, receiving updates, and rarely shaping decisions. This keynote challenges educators and school leaders to move beyond welcoming environments and into inclusive environments where families are true partners in student success.
Through storytelling, research-backed insights, and real-world case studies, this session will explore the profound impact of deep family engagement on student outcomes, including literacy, attendance, and academic achievement. Participants will engage with the Dual Capacity-Building Framework, the LAUSD Family Empowerment Rubric, and the transformative power of Parent-Teacher Home Visits (PTHVP), which is one of the highest-impact strategies in the field.
By the end of this keynote, attendees will leave inspired and equipped with actionable steps to deepen family partnerships, ensuring that families move from being welcomed guests to essential contributors in shaping school culture and student success.
